It
has a strong focus on learning, integration and participation, while still being workable for those
who may have remote/local work or study commitments. We are looking for people who are
respectful, practical, self-responsible, and who are active doers.

What To Expect

This is not a work exchange program where you are expected to work five days a week, but it
isn’t a retreat or holiday either.
An average week might look like this:

One day working together on community projects such as the garden, landcare or building maintenance

At your discretion/desire, time put towards a project of personal or group interest

A weekly Q&A discussion with members around a topic relevant to community living

A weekly facilitated Non Violent Communication/ONGO session

Moora Moora social event invitations or workshop offerings

A weekly check in with the Program Coordinator

Plenty of time for rest, reflection, local work, nature connection, socialising and personal projects

You will take part in monthly community working bees and meetings, and are invited to
participate in committees, social gatherings and day-to-day life.

There will be an introductory gathering at the start of the program to help you meet community
members and a closing gathering to reflect on the experience. Other social gatherings are likely
to happen along the way. We enjoy making the most of having visitors and new energy around!

Special Offer: Living in Community Weekend Workshop

One of our founders, Peter Cock, an expert in the study of intentional communities, has offered
to include attendance at his Living in Community workshop (2-4 Oct) at no cost to our internship
participants. This will deeply enrich your experience and understanding, as he approaches the
complex questions around how we can live well together with realism and candor.

Accommodation, Food and Finances

Dorm-style accommodation will be provided in one of our communal buildings, the Lodge, at no
cost. Occasionally the Lodge is hired by groups hosting weekend workshops, so at those times,
we will organise home stays in the community for you. You will need to take responsibility for
your own food, transport and personal needs.
The community is off-grid and relies primarily on solar and wood power. We spend a significant
amount of our time chopping and restocking wood – and you will too!
If you prefer to live in a van or similar, access to shared facilities such as showers, kitchen and
laundry can be made available.
Participants are welcome and encouraged to explore local short-term/part-time employment or
work on the mountain, but this is not arranged for you. You can expect plenty of time to spend
as you see fit.

Contribution and Projects

One day per week will be spent working together on community projects such as the garden,
landcare or building maintenance.
On the first weekend of each month, Moora Moora holds a community meeting for decision-
making and a day of shared work, with a beautiful lunch (and dessert) included. We ask that you
can attend both, as it is a fantastic way to learn about our processes and meet community
members.
We also ask participants to consider whether there may be a project, offering or area of
contribution they would like to explore during their time here, either independently, with fellow
participants, or in collaboration with interested Moora Moorians.

It is not a requirement to arrive with a fully formed project – just an invitation to think about what
you might enjoy contributing or learning.
Some examples of current projects we have on the go are tending the community garden, re-
working the interior design of the Lodge, and preparing freezer meals for people to take home
on a donation basis.

Support During the Program

The program will be supported by a small coordinator team, who will provide an induction on
arrival, regular check-ins, support with questions or challenges, and help with any conflicts if
they arise.
Where possible, we may also connect participants with community members, mentors or project
contacts based on shared interests.

Click here for the application form:

https://docs.google.com/forms/d/e/1FAIpQLSfPbushInHi4vjRJak1pLsLaFKtGlpcgEfLjTw86X5J-
ErbAQ/viewform?usp=header

Our Spring Internship Program is a two-month opportunity for a small group of 4 – 6 curious, practical and community-minded people to experience everyday life in an established intentionalcommunity over October – November 2026.This is a pilot program designed to create an accessible way for people, especially youngpeople, to get to know Moora Moora before considering…

["post-10272","page","type-page","status-publish","hentry
["GET
