The Stories of the Book Covers

My friend Ariana Overton was going to draw a cover for this book, but she got caught up in a demanding new job. Martine was keen to do it, and so these two ladies decided to exchange. I would have been happy with either, but had no say in the matter in any case.
Martine's drawing shows my hero Horse fighting for his life in the foothills of the Himalayas, having only hand weapons against a huge tiger. As usual now, Martine felt the need for the female figure -- at least, she is draped this time...

Martine is also responsible for the cover of my second psychology book, Personally Speaking: Single-session email therapy with Dr Bob Rich. This time the entire concept was hers. I paid her by editing a book for Zumaya Publications, the publishing house she and her friend Diana Kemp-Jones had recently purchased.
To my relief, there are no naked women on this one.

This book was a finalist in the non-fiction (self-help) category of the EPPIE 2002 Awards.

The concept comes from one of the twenty-six short stories within this collection. Reactions to the book have been so positive that Anina's Book Company has released it as a paperback within Australia. email me if you want a copy. I will even sign it for you.

This book was one of three finalists in the 'anthologies' category of the 2001 Dream Realm Awards

Anger and Anxiety: Be in charge of your emotions and control phobias was one of my first e-books. Over the years, it has outsold all my fiction books combined. Martine Jardin had designed its first cover. When Twilight Times republished the book, Ardy Scott designed the second version.

The book is currently available in electronic format from Twilight Times, and as a paperback in Australia from Anina's Book Company.

Cover of 'The Making of a Forest Fighter' The newest book in the series 'The Stories of the Ehvelen' is The Making of a Forest Fighter, available in electronic format.

The book has won a Dream Realm Award.

This cover is a painting by a talented Tasmanian artist, Marlies Bugmann. She paints the picture on canvas, then scans the result and sends it to Martine. Martine then uses it to design the cover.

The picture shows my hero, Ribtol, looking at 'the Waterfall of the Hand', a source of fabulous quantities of gold. There are no naked humans, but the waterfall isn't wearing anything.

Cancer: A personal challenge was over a year in the making. It is the work of 12 people, although mine was the major input. It fills a desperate need, and promises to do it well. The reviews have started coming in, uniformly positive.

I designed the cover myself, using a charcoal drawing by my wonderful young friend Julia Shub. She and her husband Jeremy joined my community, Moora Moora a few years ago. Both are talented artists.

I wanted the picture to express the facts: cancer is dangerous and nasty, but the defending powers of the body are far more powerful, given a chance.
